Six Fun-Filled Hours of Water & Land Adventures for Pupils of All Abilities!
The Water Package is a thrilling, inclusive school tour for 2nd to 6th Class pupils (ages 8–13). Set within the stunning 800-acre Killruddery Estate – home to HELL & BACK and Ireland’s Fittest Family – pupils will enjoy a full day of outdoor adventure combining water and land challenges.
Over the course of 6 hours, your class will rotate through six thrilling activity hours, including:
- Two hours of water-based adventures: Splashdown Slide, Water Jump, Pontoon Mania & Kayaks.
- Two hours of land challenges: Bushcraft Outdoor Survival Skills and the Obstacle Challenge.
- Plus two hours of extra activities in Basecamp, including Archery and Low Ropes.
Each 50-minute session is designed to build confidence, resilience and teamwork, while ensuring plenty of laughter along the way. Every pupil will have the chance to take part, learn new skills and celebrate achievements with their classmates.
Safety is our top priority: all pupils wear lifejackets, lifeguards are on duty at all times and expert instructors lead each pod of approx. 16 pupils in a fully risk-assessed environment.
The package also includes 30 minutes in a Woodland Hangout, giving pupils time to have their lunch and snacks and reflect on a school tour they’ll remember for years to come.

Total Time Onsite: 6 hours
- Arrival & Check-In: Arrive 15 minutes before your start time for toilet breaks & organisation.
- Health & Safety Briefing: Short briefing to ensure everyone knows what to expect.
- Activities (4 x 50 minutes):
- Splashdown Slide & Water Jump - thrilling confidence-boosting water obstacles
- Pontoon Mania & Kayaks - paddle, balance & laugh your way across the lake
- Bushcraft - hands-on survival skills & problem-solving
- Obstacle Challenge - physical fun, teamwork & determination
- Lunch Break (30 minutes): Packed lunch in a sheltered woodland hangout.
- Additional Two Hours in Basecamp:
- Archery
- Low Ropes
- Departure: Collection at designated finish time.
- Buses can drive directly to the Alive Outside gate for drop-off and collection.
- Killruddery Estate has multiple entrances - ensure drivers follow signs for Alive Outside!

- Clothing & Essentials:
- Sports kit or tracksuit (no jeans or good clothes)
- Swimwear
- Wetsuit recommended (Killruddery lake can be cold, even in summer)
- Old runners (shoes must be worn in the water)
- Towel
- Light rain jacket
- Change of clothes and shoes. Tip: Pack spare clothes/shoes in a plastic bag inside backpack to keep them dry
- Small backpack pupils can carry with them
- Sun cream (in summer months)
- Food & Hydration
- Packed lunch & snacks
- Plenty of drinking water
- 6 hours of guided activities with expert instructors
- Dedicated instructor per pod (approx. 16 pupils)
- Lifeguards on duty for all water activities
- Lifejackets provided & must be worn at all times
- Sheltered woodland area for lunch and group downtime

Cancel Policy
- Final participant numbers must be confirmed at least 10 working days (2 weeks) before your visit. This allows us to invoice your school and plan effectively.
- Once numbers are confirmed, we allocate staff and resources - including instructors, access to obstacles and facilities, and slots in our daily schedule. As we reserve capacity and turn away other school groups, last-minute cancellations or no-shows cannot be refunded.
- We do not offer “pay-on-the-day” options for School Tour bookings. Our operations rely on advance planning to ensure safety, quality and a smooth experience for every group.
- We operate rain or shine - dress for the Irish weather! If Met Éireann issues an orange weather warning, we will contact you to discuss alternative arrangements.
Check-In
- Arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled start time to allow for parking, toilet breaks and organisation
- Late arrivals may have reduced activity time due to scheduling constraints
- Parents of each pupil must have completed the digital waiver form - no form, no participation!
- Please advise instructors of any relevant medical conditions (e.g. asthma, diabetes, allergies)
- Pupils will receive a Health & Safety briefing before activities begin
- During activities, teachers are welcome to explore Killruddery Yard (Coffee Shop, Pizza Shed & Farm Shop), a short 5-minute walk away, but they must remain contactable at all times in case of any disciplinary matters or emergencies.
- Teachers are very welcome to join in the activities!
- Each activity lasts approximately 50 minutes.
- With a 30-minute lunch break and an additional 2 hours of activities in Basecamp at the end of the day, your group will enjoy a full 6 hours onsite.
- All activities have been fully risk-assessed by Alive Outside's Health & Safety consultant.
- Alive Outside is located on a working farm so, when they get home, all pupils should shower, change into fresh clothes and wash worn clothing thoroughly before reuse.
