The Quadrangle Challenge: An Inclusive Outdoor Adventure for Community Groups & Youth Clubs!

Looking for a fun, action-packed experience that brings your youth group together? The Quadrangle Challenge, set in Giltspur Basecamp with stunning views of Dublin Bay, is perfect for groups of 10 or more children and young people. This exciting adventure is designed to promote teamwork, communication and a love of the great outdoors, creating unforgettable memories for all involved.

What to Expect:

Your group will explore four fun and engaging activities, each lasting 30 minutes:

  1. Floor is Lava: Work together to stay "alive" in this imaginative and interactive game that tests balance and teamwork.
  2. Bushcraft: Get hands-on with nature, building resilience and practical outdoor skills.
  3. Archery: Try your hand at this fun activity, focusing on aim and precision in a supportive environment.
  4. Hang Tough/Backs Against the Wall: Straight from Ireland’s Fittest Family, these challenges are all about perseverance, with plenty of cheering and encouragement along the way!

Participants will rotate through the activities in small groups, ensuring everyone gets involved, works together and has fun.

Celebrate in Style:

After the activities, relax and refuel with 30 minutes in Giltspur Basecamp’s scenic chill out area, where your group can enjoy snacks, drinks and a well-earned break. Bring your own food or picnic to complete the day!

  • Clothing:
    • Wear a tracksuit or sports kit – leave the jeans and good clothes at home!
    • Layer up! A baselayer (e.g. Under Armour) under your top will keep you warm, especially in cold or wet weather.
  • Footwear:
    • Good shoes are a must – trail runners with grip are ideal, but astro boots work too.
  • Essentials:
    • Change of Clothes & Shoes – You probably wont need them but handy to have, especially for the trip home!
    • Towel – Handy for drying off after the challenge.
    • Light Rain Jacket – Stay prepared for the unpredictable weather.
    • Backpack – To keep your gear organised.
  • Food & Drink:
    • Snacks or Packed Lunch – Refuel between the activities.
    • Plenty of Water – Hydration is key!

CANCELLATION POLICY

  • Final Numbers & Payment: Final participant numbers must be confirmed and paid in full at least 7 days before your visit. You can update your numbers and pay any outstanding balance online up until this deadline.
  • Staffing & Resources: Once numbers are confirmed, we allocate instructors, equipment, facilities and schedule slots to your group. As capacity is reserved and other groups may be turned away, we cannot refund late cancellations or no-shows.
  • No Pay-on-the-Day: We do not offer “pay-on-the-day” options for group bookings. Our operations rely on advance planning to ensure safety, quality and a smooth experience for every group.
  • Accuracy of Numbers: Please ensure your participant numbers are correct at the 7-day deadline. Refunds cannot be given - and additional children cannot be added - after this point.
  • Weather Policy: We operate rain or shine so please dress appropriately for the Irish climate. If Met Éireann issues an orange weather warning, we will contact you directly to discuss alternative arrangements.

CHECK-IN POLICY

  • Arrive 15 minutes early to allow time for parking and to get everyone organised and ready.
  • Allow extra travel time, as the Bray area and Southern Cross Road can be very busy, especially on weekends.
  • Check-in begins promptly at your scheduled start time, so please be on time to make the most of your experience.
  • Your instructor will start with a Health & Safety briefing and guide you to an area to leave your bags.
  • Groups will then be divided into teams for each zone (approximately 16 participants per zone). If you’d like to pre-arrange your teams, you are welcome to do so.
  • Late arrivals may have reduced activity time due to scheduling constraints.
  • Hand sanitiser is available throughout the venue—please use it as needed.
  • If any participant has a medical condition (e.g., asthma, hay fever, diabetes), please inform your instructor.

FINAL NUMBERS
To secure your group's date and time, simply purchase a minimum of 10 tickets. Please confirm your final numbers and settle any remaining balance at least 7 working days before the activity so we can arrange the right number of instructors.

WAIVER FORMS
Each child attending will need a signed digital waiver. Follow the instructions in your confirmation email to share the weblink with other parents. For health and safety, only children with completed waiver forms can participate.

FOOD & DRINK OPTIONS
This package includes 30 minutes in a Woodland Hangout Area, complete with seating and benches for everyone to chill out and relax after their adventure. Bring your own drinks or snack – or order pizza to be delivered (eg Dominos Bray 01 2828888) – it’s completely up to you what's on the menu!

KILLRUDDERY YARD
During your visit, don’t miss a chance to stop by Killruddery Yard – just a quick 2-minute walk from our Adventure Centre. Open seven days a week, it offers something for everyone with its Coffee Shop, Pizza Shed, The Grain Store and Farm Shop. WHEN YOU GET HOME
Make sure all the children shower and change into fresh clothes once they’re back home. Wash all clothing thoroughly before wearing again.
